Mohammad Zahir Hussain

Mr. Mohammad Zahir Hussain is the Chairman of the Board of Islami Bank Securities Limited, a subsidiary company of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC (IBBPLC). He is an Executive Director, Bangladesh Bank (Empowered by Bangladesh Bank to exercise all powers and duties of the Board of Directors of IBBPLC) Mr. Mohammad Zahir Hussain has been appointed by Bangladesh Bank to exercise all powers and duties of the Board of Directors of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC on 14th June, 2026 as per Section 47(3) of the Bank Company Act, 1991. Mr. Hussain is currently working as the Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank, Head Office. He has been serving as the Head of 5 Departments related to Bank Supervision. He is also involved with the supervision of Risk Based Supervision (RBS) of 22 banks as well as customer complaints, ICT risk management and digital banking supervision of all banks. Mentionable that as a Director, he played a leading role in formulating the Bank Resolution Ordinance, creating the resolution framework, Asset Quality Review (AQR), Forensic Audit and merging 5 weak Sharia-based banks under resolution to form the state-owned Sammilito Islami Bank PLC. He was a member of the committee formed by the Financial Institutions Division, Ministry of Finance in this regard. Besides, he acquired knowledge in Credit Risk, Project Appraisal, CAMELS Rating, EWS & Problem Bank Monitoring, Islamic Bank Monitoring, Financial Statement Analysis, FSI Formulation, Large Loan Review, Shadow Banking, Customer Interest Protection, Whistle Blower, Implementation of Basel-3 Guidelines, Export & Import Monitoring, Corporate Governance and Stress Test etc. He joined Bangladesh Bank in 1999 as Assistant Director (General). He worked in the Department of Offsite Supervision, Foreign Exchange and Vigilance Department, Customer Interest and Protection Department, Financial Stability Department, Bangladesh Bank Training Academy, Foreign Exchange Operations Department, The Security Printing Corporation (Bangladesh) and Bank Resolution Department. He has four years of experience working in private commercial banks. He obtained his Masters with Honors from the Department of Accounting of Dhaka University and later his MBA in Finance and Banking from a private university. He holds a DAIBB degree from The Institute of Bankers, Bangladesh (IBB). He won the Eastern Bank Gold Medal, Bangladesh Bank Silver Medal and cash prizes from other banks as he stood first in the Banking Diploma First Phase Examination. It should be noted that in recognition of his professional skills, he received the Bangladesh Bank Employees Recognition Award (Gold Medal) in 2012. He has successfully completed various higher professional certification courses including Certified Expert in Risk Management (CERM) organized by Frankfurt School of Finance and Management, Germany and BIBM, and Certified Digital Finance Practitioner (CDFP), IIPS, DFIS organized by DFI and the Fletcher School, Tufts University, USA. He has received advanced training on central bank related policies and micro and macro prudential supervision from IMF, World Bank, ADB, Bank of England, Banco de France, Bank of Korea, RBI, Central Bank of Nepal, CBCL, CBRT and BOT at various times. He has published various research papers in recognized journals on Supervision, Risk Management and Digital Finance. He recently completed the CPSS course. He served as an Observer on the Board of Rupali Bank PLC.

Dr. M Kamal Uddin Jasim

Dr. M Kamal Uddin Jasim is the Director of Islami Bank Securities Limited,a subsidiary company of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC (IBBPLC).He is also is the Additional Managing Director of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC.,a visionary Banker as well as dynamic leader is also serving as the Head of Development Wing and Special Investment Wing-II of the Bank. He is also the Risk Based Supervision (RBS) Focal Point and a member of the Management Committee of the Bank. Prior to this, he played pivotal roles in different positions at Branch and Head Office including Head of Operations Wing& Development Wing, CAMLCO and also Head of Branches Control Division, Business Promotion & Marketing Division, Money Laundering & Terrorist Financing Prevention Division and Dhaka East Zone and Head of HO Complex Corporate Branch, Farmgate Branch&Dhanmondi Branch. He also served in Islami Bank Training & Research Academy (IBTRA) as Faculty Member, Tongi Branch as Manager Operations, Foreign Exchange Branch, Brand & Communication Division, SME Investment Division and General Investment Division. He played a vital role for development of GB Manual, Procurement Policy and Diploma in Islamic Banking Policy of the Bank. As a senior banker with more than 33 years experience, Dr.Jasim has vast and exclusive exposures in the field of Credit Management, specially NPI reduction, appraising and administering large industrial projects, trade finance, Product Development, Popularization of Digital Banking Products, Customer Service, Financial Literacy, Operational Research, Business Expansion, Sustainability, Financial inclusion and many allied areas. He has vast contribution for the advancement as well as betterment of the Bank. He completed graduation & post-graduation in Mass Communication & Journalism from the University of Dhaka and PhD in Economics from Institute of Bangladesh Studies (IBS), University of Rajshahi. He has been awarded with scholarships from primary level to PhD with double stand (SSC & HSC). In addition to MBA in Human Resources management, he has completed Banking Diploma named AIBB from Institute of Bankers Bangladesh (IBB) and DIB from IBTRA. He also completed degree on HRM from the University of Cambridge, UK and accomplished a special course on Leadership and Change Management from IBA, Dhaka University.

Md. Habibur Rahman

Mr. Md. Habibur Rahman is the Director of Islami Bank Securities Limited, a subsidiary company of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC (IBBPLC). He is also the company Secretary and Head of Board & Company Affairs Wing at Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC (IBBPLC). Beginning his career in 1993 as a Probationary Officer with IBBPLC, he served in different Portfolio of Foreign Exchange, Investment, General Banking, SME and Islamic Micro Finance. He served in various departments and divisions of the Bank including Head of Branches, Head of Zone, Head of Divisions including SME Investment Division-II, Head of Rural Development Division, Head of Compliance Division under IC&CW, Head of Training & Motivation Dept., Faculty of Training & Research Academy and Head of Retail Investment Wing-II. He has played instrumental role to promote Islamic Micro Finance & Agriculture investment through inclusive financial services, non financial welfare activities under Rural Development Scheme of IBBPLC. Through these roles, he made his marks for developing new entrepreneurs especially women entrepreneurs. He has also exposures in the field of Human Resources Management by talent acquisition and employees training & motivational programs. Mr. Habib obtained his Master’s in Economics from University of Dhaka, LLM from Dhaka International University, EMBA in Finance from United International University, Dhaka. He is a Diplomaed Associate of Institute of Bankers Bangladesh (DAIBB) & completed Diploma in Islamic Banking (DIB) successfully. He also obtained his Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management (PGDHRM) degree from United International University. He participated in various training courses, seminars, conferences, workshops at home and abroad on various issues and travelled Thailand, India, China, Kingdom of Soudi Arabia, Singapore and Malaysia. He is co-editor of various books related to Bank’s such as “Islamic Financial System & Selected Islamic Economic Issues”, ”ইসলামী ব্যাংকে শরীয়াহ প্রয়োগ, পদ্ধতি ও পরিপালন” এবং ”ব্যাংকার্স এসিআর এক্সরে” ।

Mohammad Ali

Mr. Mohammad Ali is the Director of Islami Bank Securities Limited, a subsidiary company of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC (IBBPLC). Mr. Mohammad Ali was the Executive Director (Acting) of Islami Bank Foundation and Chief Risk Officer (CRO) of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC with the status of Deputy Managing Director. He comes of a noble Muslim family and was born in 1957 in the district of Sirajgonj. He joined in Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC as Assistant Vice President in 2001. In his journey of bright career in Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC, he debuted as head of Department at Project Investment Division-II, now renamed in Retail Consumer & Real Estate Investment Division (RC&REID). He worked as head of department at Corporate Investment Division-I, head of Division at Corporate Investment Division-II & Investment Administration Division, head of Wing at Risk Management Wing, Internal Control & Compliance Wing, Operations Wing, and Financial Affairs Wing during his long services with the bank. Prior to this, he worked as Construction Manager, Project Coordinator, Senior Engineer and project Engineer in various engineering projects at home and abroad. Mr. Mohammad Ali obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET), Dhaka, Bangladesh, in 1980. He also obtained his Master of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering from Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok, Thailand, in 1992. He has also completed Diploma in Islamic Banking (DIB)-I. He is highly dedicated and successful banker with excellency in all areas of banking activities. In his flamboyant successful career, he participated in different regional and international conference, Seminar and workshop on Islamic Finance and Banking Operation at home and aboard. In these connection, he visited Philippines, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Austria, Singapore and Nigeria.

Md. Refat Hossen

Md. Refat Hossen is the Managing Director (Current Charge) and Company Secretary of Islami Bank Securities Limited (IBSL), a subsidiary of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC (IBBPLC), the largest private bank in the country. He has been serving as Managing Director (CC) since 15 October 2025, and earlier held the position of Managing Director & CEO (CC) from 31 October 2023 to 05 November 2024.

Mr. Hossen joined Islami Bank Securities Limited in December 2010 as Principal Officer and has since held various leadership roles including Head of Internal Control and Compliance Division and Head of Human Resources Division. In 2019, he was promoted to Senior Principal Officer (SPO) & Company Secretary, in 2022 to First Assistant Vice President (FAVP) & Company Secretary, and in 2025 to Assistant Vice President (AVP) & Company Secretary. He possesses more than 15+ years of comprehensive experience in the Investment Banking Sector. Before joining IBSL, he worked at Mutual Trust Bank (MTB) Securities as Officer & Head of Branch, and at Mona Financial Consultancy & Securities Limited (MFCSL) as Senior Executive.

Born in 1979 in Bhola District, Bangladesh, in a noble Muslim family, Mr. Hossen holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Daffodil International University (DIU) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Capital Market (PGDCM) from Bangladesh Institute of Capital Market (BICM). He also holds a global credential, the Chartered Global Investment Analyst (CGIA) from the CGIA Institute, USA.
